This was my first book by this author and I can honestly say I had mixed emotions during my reading journey for this book.
The Coppersmith Farmhouse starts with Georgia (Gigi) and her disgusted Roe moving into the farmhouse left to her by Ben who she helped to take care of. Gigi is a single mom, and nurse. She’s smart and genuinely a good hearted character. She was effortless in the way she cared about other people. She’s was natural and I loved her! Her self doubt made me want to yell at her sometimes, but I understood the reasons she felt a certain way. Her daughter Roe was also a cutie to read about and reminded me of any kid at that age.
“I was hot for the town sheriff. I was hot for a man who I absolutely did not like one bit.”
Gigi is amazed to find how much she loves the farmhouse after the move, she has nothing left in the city but heartache. She makes a fresh start with Roe and runs into Jess Clearly & the towns sheriff. They get off to a bad start, but eventually they warm up to each other. Jess was charming but sometimes I wanted to scream at him for his over bearing habits, and treating Gigi like a child. I was sooo happy after about half way when he finally got his act together.
“I’ve got you, baby. I swear you’re safe with me.”
The books romance factor was hot, though the insta Love was high in it, it didn’t irritate me. I loved Jess & Gigi’s relationship. Everything about them just worked and was perfect (even when Jess drove me nuts). The end of the book took some twists too and I loved that it involved so many unsolved cases, it made it have a mystery factor which had my mind racing with ideas! The book was really good, and I can’t wait to read the next books in this series!
