I am a huge fan of R.S. Grey and her romantic comedy books. But lets face it who doesn’t love to have a good laugh and read about a swoony guy?! So here I am telling y’all about the dreamy-ness of Beau Fortier *fans self dramatically*TB&TBTeaser#2.png The Beau & The Belle takes place down in New Orleans aka the French Quarter, if that isn’t a (literally) hot setting what else would be? It makes it the perfect location for the book, old town history places our handsome Beau as a law student at Tulane who just rented out the shed in the backyard of the historic Le Blanc family. Beau is just looking for a place to stay while he finishes up law school. Though what he wasn’t expecting is the Le Blanc’s 17-year-old daughter Lauren and his strange connection with her.

Beau’s character was very charming, but also wise for his age in the beginning. He’s very family oriented and doesn’t waste his time on things that aren’t important to him. I love how charming he was, but sweet all the same.

“Back then, her beauty was irrelevant, like a delicate work of art tucked safely behind museum glass” Lauren’s character in the beginning is a young 17, compared to her classmates. Attending an all girls school, Lauren’s only male experience is the etiquette classes she is forced to take with the all boys school. While she has a major crush on some stuck up kid Preston,  Lauren can’t help but let her eyes follow Beau’s every move. They connect on a friendly level, both knowing their relationship can’t go any further (upsetting for Lauren). After a devastating hurricane hits, both Lauren & Beau have to go their own ways.

Lauren’s character is smart, pretty & witty, but very naive, even so when she’s older in the book. She tries to do the right thing all the time. Though I especially loved that whatever she was thinking just flew right out of her mouth. I loved her character instantly.

“My palms are sweaty. My knees are weak. My arms are heavy. Eminem’s the only one who understands me right now”FAST FORWARD 10 years later! Lauren is back and ready to take names! Lauren is now a mature, confident young women starting her own business Nola. She’s returned and it’s Beaus chance to make some shit happen! With some seriously hilarious moments and sexy banter, The Beau & The Belle takes you on a ride during Mardi Gras in the French Quarter with some h-o-tcharacters & even h-o-t-t-e-r moments! This book was one of my favorites, I literally smiled the whole way through the book. Although I really hated that there was no epilogue! Even so, R.S. Grey is such a great author and always writes her story and characters extremely well so it’s a 5 starer for me. Amazing book, I can’t wait to get it in paperback!!

Blurb:

Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies.

I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras.

That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window.

A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom). He was older. Intimidating. Hot. Boys my age had chicken legs and chubby cheeks. Beau had calloused hands and a jaw cut from steel. Our interactions were scarce—mostly involving slight stalking on my end—and yet deep down, I desperately hoped he saw me as more of a potential lover than a lovesick loser.

Turns out, I was fooling myself. My fragile ego learned that lesson the hard way.

Now, ten years later, we’re both back in New Orleans, and guess who suddenly can’t take his eyes off little ol’ me.

My old friend, Mr. Fortier.

But things have changed. I’m older now—poised and confident. My ego wears a bulletproof vest. The butterflies that once filled my stomach have all perished.

When I was a teenager, Beau warned me to guard my heart.

Let’s hope he knows how to guard his.
