Review: Pixie Cut by Julia Wolf

Pixie Cut by Julia Wolf

Series: The Sublime #5
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: October 18, 2018

She’s a busy lawyer whose life has just been flipped upside down. He’s an ex-soldier whose heart has just been broken. They’re perfect strangers, and now they’re roommates too.

Sometimes I’m a hot mess. There’s no debating that. But I’m trying to get my life together, starting with my fixer upper house.

How did I end up with a tall, devilishly handsome Israeli roommate? I couldn’t actually tell you. Avi steamrolled into my life, and I kind of liked it.

He’s a flirt, but we have a contract and rule number one is no sex. Which is a good thing, because as attractive as he is, he’s just putting his broken heart back together, and I’m not looking to be his rebound.
Only it seems our contract isn’t worth the pink highlighter and paper it’s written on since Avi’s never met a rule he didn’t want to break.

I’ve loved each book of the sublime series, however since Laurel was first introduced I felt a connection to her and I couldn’t wait to get to know more of her character in this final book. And Avi was a very welcomed surprise. Plus as soon as I heard roommates to lovers I was hooked.

Laurel is a badass female all around. She’s a lawyer, is an amazing cook and loves her marvel movies. I related a lot to laurel because of how private she is about things and closed off. So when the story came out about her past indiscretions and her surprising exit from her law firm, I understood her character so much more and respected her. She wasn’t flawless like a lot of characters are. She was real, and she made bad decisions but those decisions don’t define you they can only help you grow.

Avi on the other hand was very open which I loveeed. He was blunt, to the point and didn’t bullshit around. I loved that he brought a more relaxed side to Laurel and made her feel good in her skin(not that she was insecure). He was a hotty for sure I could only imagine what a desert of abs would look like on him 😉 but he had a wonderfully filthy mouth to match *fans self*.

Overall I thought Avi and Laurel had a ton of chemistry and it didn’t matter that their relationship moved fast because truthfully it didn’t feel fast, it just flowed. This book was sweet and funny with a good dose of real to it. I loved the characters and I loved seeing everyone one last time at the very end. Definitely my favorite book of the series, and in all is an amazing series by Julia, I can’t wait to read her future work!

My rating: 5/5 Stars
