Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy.

Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.

Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.

Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.

Even if her heart beats for another man.

Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

Seriously after all this time I can’t believe that I finally had the chance to read Jackson Bishop’s book. I was so needy to have his story in my hands and now that I’ve had it I’m more than satisfied, yet I still can’t help but want another taste of him and the rest of the Bishop Boys.

All through out the Bishop series we’ve gotten a small taste of Jackson and Kiera’s relationship. Finally in Keeping Him we get to see everything we’ve been waiting for and why they’ve never entered into a relationship for the last 15 years.

Jackson a major play boy has surely been around the small town of El Dorado in more ways than one. But the only woman pivotal to his life other than mama Bishop is our girl Kiera. He’s been her best friend and secretly in love with her since they were 15, but even though Jackson can be an ass his intentions are so pure whenever it comes to her and my heart broke for him this whole first half of this book.

Having to watch him hold everything he feels inside since 15 , and watching poor Kiera giving him all the signals to let him know how she felt was seriously so HARD! But Neither of them say the truth out loud and instead let it hang in the air until Kiera decides she can’t wait anymore and becomes engaged. AND THAT PEOPLE IS WHERE THE SHIT GETS GOOOOOD

After the engagement Jackson of course becomes a drunken mess whenever he’s around Kiera and Trent, and sometimes I wanted to smack him in the head. I also wanted to smack Kiera in the head because I was like girl what are you doing! Just tell him how you feel!!! But if the characters always did what us readers wanted we wouldn’t have such an amazing book..

Keeping Him was such an epic friends to lovers romance and one hell of a slow burn! Their story is something you can’t help but to love and I know anyone reading this book will feel their magnetic pull and fall in love with them. I even fell more in love with Jackson and I didn’t think that was possible, but we see such a different side to him in this book and it was so perfect, in fact EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT IN THIS BOOK! If you haven’t read this book (or series) yet do yourself a favor and do it, you won’t be disappointed!

My rating: 5 / 5 Stars
